Headache Pain Relief Network…

Thanks for taking a look at my blog.
If you’re anything like me you’ve spent what seems like a huge part of your life suffering with headaches, migraines or both. Maybe it’s a recent development for you, or maybe you’re still quite young and not had time to find out what works for you yet. Either way, if you suffer with tension headache, sinus headache, cluster headaches or migraines, you’ll find something here to help you.
Over the years a lot of us have found our own headache pain relief methods. Migraines and headaches have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember (over 45 years) and over the years I’ve tried just about everything. I’ve cut all sorts of food and drink from my diet, and had a certain amount of success, but those headaches still manage to creep up on me now and then to remind me who’s in charge!
Some of my triggers are, chocolate, cheese and beer. I can’t even get to the bottom of a glass of Guinness before I start to feel (or see) those tell tale signs that there’s a migraine on the way! Why is it all the things we love that turn out to be triggers? Can life still be worth living without chocolate or Guinness?
Maybe there is a way of enjoying the things we love and still staying headache free. I’ve tried different drugs, relaxation techniques, exercise, hot compresses, icy cold compresses, massage, acupressure, breathing exercises, cutting out caffeine, having more caffeine and plenty of other things I can’t remember right now!
I’d love to hear about what works for you and maybe you can learn something from me too. I’m going to be searching out all the headache pain relief methods I can find, and sort the good from the bad.
Even better than finding a great method of headache pain relief, is to stop the headache from happening in the first place … although there is a part of me that would somehow miss migraines if they weren’t part of my life! Can that be normal, or is that just me?
So … I’ll also be looking for changes we can both make to our lifestyles which will prevent that nagging, persistent pain that stops us enjoying our lives the way we know we should. I’ll also be posting interesting articles and keeping you up to date with the latest headache related news stories and breakthrough cures, so thanks again for reading this and make sure you comment on my posts and tell me your thoughts, so it’s not just one way traffic!
Come back soon to find out what’s new at the Headache Pain Relief Network.

Top 7 Natural Headache Pain Relief Methods
Posted on 05. Oct, 2009 by admin.
I thought I’d tell you about a few natural headache pain relief methods that I’ve tried, and maybe one of them will help you.
We all get headaches, of various severity, from time to time but you should remember that if headaches persist, or make you feel dizzy or give you double vision that you should visit your doctor to make sure there is
nothing more serious causing them.
One common cause of headaches and migraines is stress, so getting rid of the cause of the stress is the obvious place to start although I do appreciate that this isn’t always possible. (Hey! I’m not recommending resigning from your job, or divorce!!!) Sometimes a hot shower or bath can help you to relax. Bubble bath or incense can help some people, although sometimes strong smells seem to aggravate matters, so find out what works for you and stick with it. Try and push any stressful thoughts out of your mind as you enjoy the hot water and you’ll soon find that as the stress disappears, so does the headache.
Another way of relaxing, and the one which works best for me, is to lay down with a cold face flannel on your head. Position it so the flannel covers your forehead and eyes. You can even fold some ice into the flannel if you have any, as otherwise it very quickly warms up. Again, push those stressful thoughts out of your mind.
If you concentrate on relaxing your body, one part at a time, you’ll soon start to feel better. Start with your your toes by first clenching the muscles to tense them up, then notice them relax as you stop clenching. Next are your calves, followed in turn by your thighs until your whole body is relaxed. Often you’ll find that you’ll be asleep, even before you finish relaxing every part!
Sleep is a great natural way of bringing about headache pain relief, if you can fit it into your schedule when the headache strikes. I realise this isn’t always possible but even a short nap will often help and make you feel more relaxed.
Exercise is another of my favourites. Anything from a gentle walk to a hard work out will help. Running works best for me or a swim. Swimming has the added benefit of the cool water which seems to helpwith my headaches. I find that exercise works best if you can fit it into your day as soon as you notice the first signs of a headache. If you leave it too long, until the headache is established, it can sometimes just make things worse. Regular daily exercise will often stop the headaches appearing in the first place so try and make time in your life if you can. Always make sure you keep yourself hydrated when you’re exercising as dehydration can cause headaches.
This brings us to another natural way to prevent headaches … Water … Always make sure you drink plenty! There seem to be many different recommendations as to how much you should drink but I think the best way is to just keep an eye on your urine and make sure you drink enough to keep it very light coloured and clear. If you notice that your urine is dark yellow or brown, or indeed that you’re not urinating at all, then you need to be drinking more water.
A lot of us have triggers which we know will bring on a headache or migraine, so it makes sense to avoid these whenever possible. Smoking and caffeine are common triggers and others can be alcoholic drinks, or foods like cheese and chocolate. They are often things we enjoy which makes it difficult to cut them out of our diet completely but do your best and be prepared for the consequences if you don’t! Sometimes it can be worth having the occasional headache to be able to enjoy one of life’s pleasures!

Migraine Relief
Posted on 30. Sep, 2009 by admin.
I’ve recently downloaded a guide to Migraine Relief which I’m currently reviewing.
It claims to “Completely Eliminate Your Migraine Pain Forever In The Next 48 Hours”, which would obviously be great if it lives up to expectations.
Now, I am a bit of a cynic, so I should point out that I’m not recommending this yet. I’ve only just got my hands on it myself, but if you’d like to try it out with me, take a look and leave me your comments. I’d be interested to know what you think.
It comes with a 60 day money back guarantee and I’m not afraid to use it!
If it does turn out to be rubbish I’ll have no qualms about getting my money back and hope you would do the same!
Having said that, I have just had a scan through the content and there seems to be a whole load of interesting ideas. It advocates “natural” headache remedies, rather than medication, which surely has to be a good thing.
So … Go and grab a copy of the Migraine Relief Guide, then make sure you come back and let me know what you think.
